I’m your Lucky Leprechaun,
A gift for St Paddys day.
Clip me to your money,
And I’ll keep it safe all day!

What do you do when you need to make a quick and inexpensive present for a student or office worker? All that is left in your bead box is a few standard jump rings and the odd eye pin, a few spare beads, thread and a couple of hours!
That was my problem and while sitting at my desk I spotted the humble paperclip and came up with the idea of the Lucky Leprechaun paper clip! The Leprechaun can be used as a money clip, keeping your papers together or hang from your pen tidy / folder- use my poem above to make a greeting card to display the Leprechaun!
This Lucky Leprechaun paper clip is a bead pattern design made using Japanese Miyuki size 11 Delica beads and peyote or brick stitch can be used. It is assumed the beader will be familiar with either Brick, Peyote or Both. Peyote and Brick stitch bead instructions are available free on www.threadabead.com. Please note the pattern may not work with any other size and type of beads.
There are 8 colours in total and the finished beadwork is 1 cm x 5.5 cm (excluding paperclip).
For this project you will need one paperclip, approx 3cm in length. The fringe of the Leprechaun uses a 4mm clear crystal and 3 jingle bells - please note almost any beads around 3-5 mm would work. To let the Leprechaun hang freely 4 x gold plated 5mm Jump rings and 1 x eye pin should be used.
NB round nose pliers and flat nose pliers will be required for creating the bell tassel.
The bead pattern supplied is 8 pages and includes a colour chart of suggested delicas, a colour pattern and a numbered coloured pattern.
