Further Information on Beadwork Design

If you are thinking about beading a fish… well you really need a whole tank set up don’t you? In this pattern is the instructions to make 2 fish (Dotty and Stripey), along with 2 aquatic plants and 3 different sizes of pebbles to decorate your tank.

So what could you use for a tank?… well it could be anything; a large jar, a box with clear or cut out sides would work well, but of course ThreadABead thinks of everything and we have that covered too! Also available is our wood and acrylic beadquarium – custom made to give your beady fish a fantastic place to live …. Not only that, it lights up too, for your fish to continue nighttime swimming (beadquarium available separately)

In this pattern we give full detailed photographic and graphic instructions, and there are 97 detailed steps, making this pattern even suitable for beginners to beading.

This bead pattern is made using Japanese Miyuki size 11 Delica. Round Peyote stitch is used but full detailed instructions are given, and no previous knowledge of the stitch is required. Please note the pattern may not work with any other size and type of beads.

There are 14 delica colours in total and each fish measure 3.75cm x 2.5cm x 2.25cm.

Also required is 2 small lengths of Invisible Thread, Polyester Wadding and some Plastic Pellets to act as gravel (Optional). You will also need a container for your tank, such as a jam jar or our beadquarium tank. If you are using your own container you will also need glue or sellotape.

The bead pattern supplied is 42 pages and includes 97 step by step photo and graphic instructions. A word chart is also included.
