In June 2022 Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 70 years on the throne in her Platinum Jubilee. It is the first time a monarch of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth has reached this milestone. In the UK there is a special double bank holiday and it is a time for all to get together to celebrate her achievement with street parties and events going on all through the nation.
At ThreadABead we could not let such a special and rare occasion go by without an acknowledgment and so we put our thinking caps on to create a box that is fitting of a Queen.
On the box are two picture panels, one of Buckingham Palace and one of Windsor Castle - two of the Queens most famous residences. Buckingham Palace is her official residence and Windsor castle is her favored private residence, one where she spent a lot of time during her childhood and where she is currently in residence.
On the top is a crown, in the colours of the jubilee – purple and silver, matching the rest of the colour scheme of the box. On the base of the box is the numbers 1952 to 2022, representing the years the Queen has reigned.
