Meet BeadyBot – the beaded robot joining the ThreadABead pattern collection.
Inspired by the little retro toy robots my brother and I used to play with as children in the 1980s, BeadyBot has actually been years in the making — with my brother asking me for the longest time when I was finally going to turn one into beadwork.
There’s something wonderfully comforting about those old toy robots many of us remember from childhood shelves, bedroom floors and treasured toy boxes, and I
wanted BeadyBot to capture a little of that same feeling.
Designed with a gentle vintage-toy charm, he brings together the warmth of handmade beadwork with the simple nostalgia of the robots so many of us grew up loving.
At just 5.5cm tall, BeadyBot may be tiny, but there’s plenty of personality tucked into his little beaded frame.
In this pattern we give full detailed photographic and graphic instructions, and there are 67 detailed steps, making this pattern even suitable for beginners to beading.
This bead pattern is made using Japanese Miyuki size 11 Delica. Round Peyote stitch is used but full detailed instructions are given, and no previous knowledge of the stitch is required. Please note the pattern may not work with any other size and type of beads.
There are 10 delica colors in total and a finished beadwork is approximately 4 cm (w) x 5.5 cm (h) x 1.5 cm (d)
2 x 4mm Jet, 2 x 24kt Gold and 1 x 6mm Siam round fire polished beads are required along with a small amount of polyester wadding.
The bead pattern supplied is 29 pages and includes 67 step by step photo and graphic instructions. A word chart is also included.
